This policy explains what information oregonmainecoon.com collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. The website is operated by Patty and John Cruikshank, doing business as Nacoonzi Cattery, in Estacada, Oregon.
Nacoonzi Cattery is a small, family run CFA registered Maine Coon cattery. This website is operated personally by Patty and John Cruikshank. The website itself is designed and maintained on our behalf by Kaelrune Media (kaelrunemedia.com), who keep it running and up to date. Decisions about your information remain ours.
If you want to reach us about anything in this policy, use the contact page or call (503) 789-8878.
Our adoption application asks for a good deal of information, because placing a kitten well requires knowing something about the home it is going to. Depending on which questions you answer, that can include:
You choose what to submit. Only a small number of fields are required, and you are free to leave the rest blank, though a sparse application is harder for us to act on.
We use this information for one purpose: to decide whether a particular kitten should go to a particular home, and to stay in touch with you about that placement. We read every application personally.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to data brokers. We do not use it to build advertising audiences.
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the site that referred you. This comes from our hosting, our security service and our analytics, and we use it to keep the site working and to understand which pages people find useful.
We use cookies for essential site functions and for analytics. Google Analytics is active on this site and sets its own cookies to measure visits. Where a cookie consent banner is shown, your choice there governs non essential cookies.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies in their settings. The site will still work, though some conveniences may not.
We keep the list short and we do not add to it casually. At present:
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what it does with what it receives. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone from fraud or harm.
We keep adoption applications indefinitely. Enquiries often resume years later, kittens are placed over long horizons, and we find it genuinely useful to have the history. If you would prefer your application to be deleted, ask us and we will remove it.
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete it entirely. Write to us through the contact page and tell us what you would like done.
If you are a California resident, state law gives you rights over your personal information, including the right to know what is collected and to request deletion. We will not treat you differently for exercising them. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, comparable rights apply to you.
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our forms, contact us and we will delete it.
The site runs over an encrypted connection and sits behind a firewall. Application entries are stored in the website database and are visible only to us. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not hold payment card details on this website and we keep the number of people with access to a minimum.
We link to other businesses, including our recommended supplement supplier, an insurer, a local groomer and an artist whose work we feature. Those sites are not ours and this policy does not cover them.
If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Substantial changes will be obvious rather than buried.
Questions about this policy, or requests about your own information, go to the contact page or by phone to (503) 789-8878.
