(In-A-Coons-Eye)
The rooms our cats actually live in. We are always building, renovating and adding to this space, because a cattery is never really finished.
Kittens move through three spaces as they grow, and each one is built for the stage they are at.
Kittens spend their first three weeks in the nursery, watched closely and handled every day. Weight, health and development are checked constantly at this stage. They stay here until they are ready, physically and emotionally, for more space.
Once a litter outgrows the birthing box they move into the queen and kitten room, and their mothers come with them. This is where the real learning happens. Kittens pick up their social skills from their queens, not from us. There is room to play, climb, cuddle and grow.
Our newest build, a dedicated space for the boys. Tall scratching posts, multiple perches and hideaways, soft bedding and plenty to keep them occupied. Our studs are not shut away in here. It is their own room and they use it.
Not pictured below yet, and worth describing.
Room to be outside.
Large outdoor runs with multi level perches and concrete floors that wash down properly. Our studs get fresh air, sun and something to watch, without ever being loose outdoors.
Still being added to.
The catios are not in the gallery below yet. We are still building them out, the same as the rest of the cattery. Photos will follow.
The rooms are only half of it. Patty and John built this place and run it every day, alongside the guardian homes who raise our litters.
